About Dr Syed Ahmad Faisal Syed Kamaruddin

Biographical Sketch:

A Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia graduate, Dr Syed Ahmad Faisal served as an Orthopaedic Surgeon and Lecturer in Hospital UKM’s Faculty of Medicine upon completing his Master Programme in 2005. He completed 2 years intensive surgical training in his sub-specialisation (Shoulder and Knee surgery) in Australia (Warringal Private Hospital, Melbourne and St. John of God Hospital, Perth), under a Fellowship Programme in 2010. A consultant in this sub-specialty, he was also Head of Hospital UKM Shoulder and Knee Unit, before joining KPJ Klang in 2013. His surgical skills include: General orthopaedic, Trauma, Shoulder and Knee surgery (Joint replacement and Arthroscopic surgery) and Sports injury.

  • Ankle (ATFL and CFL ligament tear, cartilage injury, Haglund disease, Achilles tendinosis and rupture, plantar fasciitis)
  • Stem cell treatment (PRP or platelet rich plasma)
  • Hyaluronic acid (HA) injection for knee osteoarthritis
  • Cartilage defect/injury management (microfracture, PRP injection, bone grafting or Hylofast)
