Dr Vanitha Sivanesan completed her primary and secondary education at Methodist Girls School, Klang. She obtained her MBBS degree from M.S.Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, India in 1996.
She underwent housemanship training at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan from 1997 to 1998. She was then transferred to Hospital Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan from 1998 to 2000. There she worked as a medical officer in Accident & Emergency and later in the Paediatric Department.
Her next posting was at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang (HTAR) in the year 2000. There she received extensive training in Paediatrics and obtained a vast experience in handling emergencies in both Neonatal and Paediatric cases. She received the Selangor State Excellent Service Award in 2002. She obtained her MRCPCH in 2009 and continued working at HTAR until 2011. She has taken part in many workshops, trainings and was a state level trainer for the Neonatal Resuscitation Programme.
She is a fully gazetted Paediatrician and is registered with the National Specialist Registry of Malaysia. After leaving the government service in 2011, she joined Sentosa Specialist Hospital, Klang as the resident Paediatrician and remained there until late 2014.
She is now the latest resident Paediatrician to join KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital in 2015.
